
Pre-Concentrator
Evaporators
If an evaporator is the constraint in a processing system a C. E. Rogers MVR
Pre-Concentrator could be the most effective means to increase production
capacity requirements.
A MVR evaporator used as a pre-concentrator can solve this problem of a limited
production capacity. By using a C. E. Rogers MVR Pre-Concentrator in conjunction
with their existing evaporator system, a processor can many times, double
the amount of product processed.
EXAMPLE: A four effect falling film TVR evaporator system is capable of processing
45,000 lb/hr of sweet whey from 6.0% TS to 52% TS. The installation of a single
effect MVR pre-concentrator, capable of concentrating 90,000 lb/hr of sweet
whey from 6.0% TS to 11.7% TS, will allow the present four effect TVR to process
45,000 lb/hr of sweet whey from 11.7% TS to 52% TS. A 100% increase
in overall product processed.
The C. E. Rogers Company's MVR evaporator design used for pre-concentration
(before entering an evaporator for high solids concentration) can be a more
cost-effective alternative to a membrane system. The MVR pre-concentrator
is highly efficient and requires very little maintenance.
